AFDRA Meeting Report

February 11th 2026

Monthly Meeting Report

The 306th AFDRA meeting was called to order at 1900. Attendance was great with maybe 40 retirees attending. Louis Trujillo led the opening prayer, and we had a moment of silence for John Serino and his family.

Roll call of Officers and Advisory Board members. All Executive Board members present.

President’s Report;

By Kerry Horton

The 2026 NM legislative session is more than halfway over and none of the three bills that would have put money in retiree pockets appear to be doing well. I am not saying there’s zero chance but it’s looking very doubtful that any will find any funding from the state this year.

29 AFR members retired in 2025, and their brass tags are on the Honor Roll board at the museum. A handful more retirees have worked their last days on the job but are on early out status and will be 2026 retirees. Welcome to the retired side of life to all the retiree probies. Cake and ice cream!
